A BILL to amend article six, chapter thirty-three of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section thirty-one-c, relating to providing a standard rate for all motor vehicle policies in the state of West Virginia.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article six, chapter thirty-three of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section thirty-one-c, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 6. THE INSURANCE POLICY.

§33-6-31c. Standard rate for all motor vehicle policies.

All insurance rates in the state of West Virginia shall be based on the insured driver's record rather than the region in which he or she resides.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide one rate formotor vehicle insurance for all persons in this state for similar makes or models of vehicles, regardless of the insured's geographical location.
